Today is the start of National Cupcake Week 2010 here in the UK!
It runs from 13th - 19th September. It's only the second year of this event organised by the British Baker Magazine to highlight the joys and delights of all things cupcake.
I might try to arrange a cupcake party with some friends to celebrate before the week is out, or at least eat a fair few cupcakes. The perfect excuse to indulge!

It's a pity you're no longer living in Leeds as the new National Cupcake Champion is Sunshine Bakery in Chapel Allerton.
It's an excellent little shop with everything freshly prepared each day, and the cupcakes are a world apart from the usual garbage on sale everywhere else. They're definitely worth a visit if you're ever even remotely in the vicinity.
Great idea Katie - I like the thought of a cupcake party!
If I were closer I'd expect an invitation. In return you'd get cupcakes! I like that you get a whole week to celebrate, we in the USA only get a day.
I could eat a fair few, a cupcake party would be fun!
Katie, Didn't know about it being National Cupcake week in the UK but I did make cupcakes on Wednesday...and I almost never make cupcakes....perhaps the vibes made it across the pond?
